“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9

God spoke these words to Joshua at a moment of tremendous transition. Moses was gone, the responsibility was heavy, and the road ahead was filled with uncertainty. Yet God did not tell Joshua that the journey would be easy. God promised something far greater: His presence.

That same promise belongs to us today.

There will be moments when the weight of responsibility feels overwhelming, when fear whispers that we are not ready, and when discouragement tries to convince us that we cannot move forward. But courage does not mean that fear is absent. Courage means we keep walking because we know God is with us.

You may not have every answer. You may not see how everything will work out. You may even feel tired from carrying burdens that others cannot see. Still, God says, “Be strong.” Not because you must depend upon your own strength, but because God’s strength is holding you.

Do not allow one difficult season to make you doubt what God has spoken over your life. Do not let a closed door convince you that every door is closed. Do not let a delay make you believe that God has forgotten you. The same God who brought you this far will remain with you through every step that lies ahead.

Take courage. Lift your head. Keep moving forward.

Wherever you go, God is already there. Whatever you face, God will face it with you. And when your own strength feels insufficient, remember that you are being carried by a presence greater than your fear, stronger than your opposition, and more faithful than your circumstances.

Do not be discouraged. God is with you, and you are not walking alone.
