As we enter into the season of Lent, it is my hope that we will use this time to reflect and deepen our relationship with God. It is necessary to be on a 40 day journey in which we can be renewed in the life of Jesus Christ. We need this time to consider the lessons of Jesus as we stand against the world’s madness. The greatest resistance that we can have at this time in our lives centers around renewal, repentence and spiritual growth. When we follow Jesus to the cross, we carry the burdens of oppression while we walk the path of faith that leads to freedom and liberation.
In the fight for justice we are invited during the sacredness of Lent to go inward in prayer and move outward with love that bears all things, hopes all things and believes all things. May we discover a new resilience that demands love and expects transformation. Together we can, united we must.
