I find myself saying it more and more, “Just calm down. Everything is going to be alright.” I say it to family, church members, friends and even my dog! And I believe it to be true. Why? Because our faith should guide our trust and our trust in God is the very assurance that we need in times of trouble.
It doesn’t mean the storm isn’t real. It doesn’t mean the pain doesn’t hurt. But it does mean that we are not alone in the midst of it. We serve a God who sees, who hears, and who responds—not always in our timing, but always with perfect love.
So yes, I find myself saying it again and again: “Just calm down. Everything is going to be alright.” Not because I have all the answers, but because I know the One who does. And I’ve seen God make a way before—I believe God will do it again.
Even when the world feels shaky, God is still steady. Even when our hearts feel heavy, God is still holding us.
So breathe. Pray. Trust. Rest in the promise of Psalm 46:10: “Be still, and know that I am God.” That knowing—that deep, anchored faith—is where our calm comes from. That’s why I can say it with my whole heart: Everything is going to be alright.
